Did Someone Say Peace Lily Aquarium?

At first, Patrick was just a normal betta fish in a normal tank on a desk. But soon after his arrival, he was upgraded into a larger bowl and showcased in the retail end of our shop. He quickly became the topic of discussion from our walk-in customers. Sure, he is cute but what they really wanted to know all about was the plant that decorated the top of his home. The simple 4 inch peace lily was cleaned of its soil and dipped into Patrick’s bowl as you can see in the above photo. The peace lily is doing great with its roots fully submerged and Patrick loves it too! He loves to hide and nibble on the roots. He has been so calm and relaxed since adding the peace lily into his bowl. Maintenance on the peace lily aquarium is also pretty simple. Every other week or so (depending on how the water is looking), carefully take your fish out and change the water completely. Once the water has reached room temperature again, add the fish and peace lily back in! If you also want to add some more personality to your bowl then I suggest rocks or colored gems at the bottom.

If you need some additional tips on how to completely clean the soil from your peace lily please read below:

Take your peace lily to a sink or bath tub. Fill with water and submerge the peace lily. Some soil will gently fall off once the water hits it, but additionally move your fingers around it to get all of the soil to fall off, releasing the roots. You want to get ALL the soil off. If you break a root, it’s ok! The plant will not die from a broken root.
